    Hi Mike / Team -

    I think there is a typo on KB 16694. The bottom part of the doc references "Clusters using Oracle Linux 8(OL8) DB appliances" twice; but the second reference should in fact be about OL7 instead of OL8.

      Hi James. Thanks for the tip. The Doc team doesn't write the KBs, but I'll let Leo T, the author of that KB article, know about this. I'll let you know when it gets addressed.

    On this document: docs.sciencelogic.com/latest/Content/Web_Admin_and_Accounts/System_Administration/sys_admin_system_upgrade.htm

     

    This command doesn't work:

    Regenerate the configuration file for MariaDB:
    sudo /opt/em7/share/scripts/generate-my-conf.py -o -f /etc/my.cnf.d/silo_mysql.cnf

     

    And also, After upgrading the mariadb it was having this error: 

    ExecStartPre=/opt/em7/share/scripts/max-open-files (code=exited, status=203/EXEC

    I needed to create the script:

    need to create /opt/em7/share/scripts/max-open-files (copying from a working one)

      Hi James. Let me talk to our Engineering team about these commands and your error.

      Did you run this command on the Primary or Secondary DB server (or both)?

        Hi Mike, i was running this on a collector. 

        The I removed the -f, then i got the error that the command is depreciated, need to use vimariadb. 

        I copied checked my config with another collector, and it matched. 

        But then i was having this 203 error, as the max_open_files script was missing, i don't think its related. But that was the only issue i had with the instructions. And i had this so far on 2 collectors i had to do manually, i have another 2, i suspect i will have the same issue.

    One area the Documentation team is focusing on in 2024 is addressing any bad links inside of our (quite large) documentation set. So this discussion forum is a great place to list any 404s you might encounter after clicking a link at one of our docs sites. 

    Hopefully we can prevent future users from encountering our dreaded "This Page No Longer Exists at This Location" page:
