Welcome — Introduce Yourself to the Nexus Community

We’re excited you’re here! This thread is a friendly space for Nexus Community members to introduce themselves, connect with peers, and share a fun fact to break the ice. Whether you’re new to the product, a longtime user, an SME, or part of the product team, we’d love to learn a bit about you.

What to post (suggested format)

  • Name / Role: e.g., Jane Doe — Site Reliability Engineer
  • Company / Team: optional
  • How you use Nexus: short summary — monitoring, incident response, dashboards, automation, etc.
  • Something fun: a hobby, favorite snack, a weird skill, or a memorable travel story — keep it light!
  • One thing you’d like to learn from the community: topic, tip, or resource request

Example introductions (copy and modify)

Hi everyone — I’m Alex (SRE). I use Nexus to correlate performance signals across our multi-region services. Fun fact: I’ve completed three half-marathons. Happy to share dashboards and alert tuning tips!

Hey all — I’m Priya, Product Manager. I focus on the Skylar Advisor roadmap. Fun fact: I’m learning to bake sourdough. Looking forward to hearing your feature ideas!

Community guidelines (keep it welcoming)

  • Be kind and professional — introductions are public and for community building.
  • Keep personal data minimal — no sensitive company secrets or private contact info.
  • Respect privacy — if someone prefers a private conversation, use direct messages or Slack channels.
  • Off-topic or promotional content will be removed — focus on connection and learning.

Moderator notes

  • If you see an introduction that needs a follow-up (e.g., asks a product question), moderators will route it to the right SME or product owner.
  • Use the Like button to welcome new members — small recognition helps build rapport.
  • If an introduction remains unanswered for 3 business days, moderators will nudge relevant SMEs (per Nexus moderation SLA).

Sample moderator reply templates

Welcome reply: Thanks for introducing yourself, @username — great to have you here! If you’re looking for tips on [topic], check out [link] or I can tag an SME.

Routing to SME: Thanks — routing this to @ProductOwner/SME to follow up on best practices for [topic].

Tips to get more responses

  • Ask one specific question (e.g., “Does anyone have a dashboard for end-to-end latency?”).
  • Mention the features you use — others with similar setups will reply faster.
  • Follow up on replies and mark helpful answers to close the loop.

Ready to introduce yourself?

Post below using the suggested format. New here? Say hi — we’ll give you a warm welcome. Thanks for helping make Nexus a friendly, helpful community!

Hello! My name is Mike Jasper, and I’m a “Senior Principal Documentation Specialist” (aka Tech Writer) at ScienceLogic. Every Friday, our documentation team posts updates with links to any new content we added to our docs site at docs.sciencelogic.com. We also use Nexus to address any questions or issues with our docs, including typos.

Fun fact: I live with my family on a seven-acre farm in the North Carolina mountains, where we have 2 horses, about 20 chickens, 2 barn cats, 2 indoor cats, and a big old dog who more or less lives outside, even in the winter.

There’s always something to do here -- here I am painting the roof of one of our barns:

These roofs won’t paint themselves...
