Hello,

We are pleased to announce the release of Skylar Compliance version 5.6 20260715 for appliances.

This release includes the following updates:

  • Added the new "Critical" severity level to compliance rules, supplementing the existing "High",
"Medium", "Low", and "None" options to provide more finely-tuned risk classification.
  • Adjusted the size of drop-down fields to ensure text is more visible when selecting an option. If the text would be cut off by the edge of the field, a tooltip with the full text displays if you hover your cursor over the text. (Case: 00684184)
  • Selecting individual files to export inside a multi-file backup using the "Local via SFTP/FTP/TFTP"
option will now export only the selected files, instead of the complete backup. (Case: 00672594)
  • If a plugin does not support comparison between different configuration types, and there was no
change between the same configuration type, "Configuration Change" emails will no longer include a diff. To accommodate for this change, if the plugin does not support comparison between different configuration types, "Configuration Change" emails will now include a list of removed or added configuration types. (Case: 00676426)
  • When searching in backups, index generation now supports searching for tokens larger than 30
characters. This only applies to new backups, and old indexes will not be regenerated. (Cases:
    00653018, 00676877)
  • Addressed an issue that caused an error when viewing the Schedule page for a device.
  • Addressed an issue that cased database lockout errors during archive restoration, improving the
reliability of the backup process on OL8 environments. (Cases: 00673532, 00652016, 00664759)
  • Addressed an issue where bulk editing device schedules to set alerts or retries to "Never" resulted
in an incorrect value being applied. (Case: 00654934)
  • Made the following performance improvements to address potential issues when an appliance has a high number of agents:
    • The number of agents that can be pinged concurrently is now controlled.
    • Improved queries throughout Skylar Compliance.
    • Addressed an issue that caused memory leak when a backup dummy run fails.
    • Addressed an issue that caused high memory usage when a large number of backups were queued to run.

Thank you,
