I recently had a request from a user asking if there was a way to quickly look at the device logs for multiple devices all at once.  I looked at the reporting tool for a bit and didn’t find anything there, then went to see if I could provide that in an AP2 dashboard.  I know device logs in a widget are technically possible because they’re right there on the default device investigator tab but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get that data displayed in a dashboard.  Events no problem.  Device logs not so much.  Any suggestions or ideas on how to make this happen?  Thanks.

Device logs are not available via an AP2 dashboard widget; device logs exist natively in AP2 via three vectors:

  1. The Device Summary modal that’s available from /events and /inventory/devices using this button:

  2. The Device Investigator widget
  3. The Logs tab accessible from each Device Investigator

The fastest available comparison which I can recommend at small scale would be to open Device Investigator for multiple devices as separate new browser windows.

OK.  That’s disappointing, but at least now I have an answer.  Going to follow this up with an Ideas Hub post.  Thank you!
