Modify Link-Message in Event Policy

I've done some digging and so far haven't found a way to change the text in a Link-Message that's associated with an event policy.  I know we can change the name of the policy itself but not to the t...

    Hello,

The Link-Message field in internal event policies links the event policy to the internal system message created by SL1. These messages are generated by the various internal SL1 processes and are hard-coded. The Link-Message field is not the message itself but rather allows you to link a system message to an event policy so you can generate events based on internal system messages.

However, if the end result you are looking for is to modify the message in the event policy seen by the user, then you can change what that message is by modifying the Event Message under the Event Message tab in the Event Policy. By default, it is %M, which simply outputs the full message from the system. You can change the message to whatever text you like, and we have additional variables you can use in the message, such as %V which only outputs the data value from the system message. The documentation here Defining and Editing Event Policies contains the full list of variables. Doing this will change the message in the event without breaking the link between the event policy and the system message.
