ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack Release Notification

We are pleased to announce that the first ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack has been released. The download for this release can be found on the Support Portal under the PowerPack filename:

https://support.sciencelogic.com/s/release-version/aBuVL000000169p0AA/sciencelogic-geographic-maps

Description

This PowerPack supports two functions vital for the use of Geographic Maps:

  • A report to extract device and any existing location data. The spreadsheet this report generates is updated by the user to add additional location data and align devices to locations (only devices aligned to locations can be included) on a Geographic Map.
  • Provide ScienceLogic with statistics on Geographic Map usage from early adopters that will help confirm the direction of future versions.

PLEASE NOTE:  A DRAFT Geographic Maps manual has been added to the portal for customer use. This is part of the main MAPS manual and is expected to be replaced by the entire MAPS manual in October.

Please refer to the ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack File Details in the PowerPacks section of the Support Portal for all information pertaining to the ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack Support Status, Minimum SL1 Version, Solution Information, and Pricing Information. The ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack Release File Details also contains links to the PowerPack Info Report.

Great news, thanks. Could you please verify the file hash - doesn't seem to match.

        Hi Sue,

I downloaded the file again and still calculated a different SHA256 hash tag - 9868835DFE29550B2BB427A1036D9D407DB014F904EA6BFDA9B40B4E9B52658E.

  • So we need to update the location data of devices and it will be viewed in geo map ? Any snapshot do you have

As of the posting ScienceLogic: Geographic Maps v100 PowerPack is notably applicable to those who participated in early feedback on the Geographic Maps feature which will soon be generally available as of the upcoming AP2 Mochi release. The contents include:

      • A report to extract devices and any associated location data
      • A report to collect map tile usage over a period of time that users will send to ScienceLogic to provide hard data on maps and tile requests per day
      • A Dynamic Application to collect map tile usage for early adopters of Geographic Maps

  • SueSloan I can download and install the powerpack but what are we expecting to get from the report. I was looking for documentation else ware other than the PP release notes and I don't see anything.

Jasonkeck-GDIT Jason, I talked to Jonathan and our DOCS folks.  Docs will have a DRAFT manual tentatively ready for me this afternoon.  This Geo Maps chapter DRAFT is a part of the main Maps manual and not a standalone doc but I can attach just this chapter to the PP on the portal so you can use to help with Geo Maps.  That main Doc is not slated for release until approximately 10/10.  I will let you know when the DRAFT is up on the portal

Jasonkeck-GDIT The DRAFT Geographic MAPS manual is now on the portal.  The NEXUS Release Notification was modified to mention it.
