System Event Customization

Hi All,

Is there any way at the moment to customization the default system event policy ? Addition/deletion of event based on admins?

  • Adjustments to the internal alerts produced by the application operation isn't a product offering. If your environment is generating alerts, and events as a result, that you see as "polluting" your tickets my recommendation is to engage with our Support department to discuss why your system is generating these alerts and how you may address these system issues.

If sentiment is to simply disregard that these system alerts are occurring, as it sounds that you have a ticket integration exclusion of ticket creation and/or updates could likely be done for certain events to reduce that noise. Likewise, modification of the existing event policies could be performed to exclude alerts that contain clearly identified messaging that you aim to dismiss. The latter, of course as I already mentioned, would raise the risk of missing a potentially important issue with application operation in the future based on that configuration.

  • The event policies themselves can be modified, however, the one's which you have on display are vectors for notification of SL1 platform impacting behavior and changes to them could impact your visibility and awareness of SL1 operational issues. Your question does not provide sufficient information to by which to conclude what sort of customization you had in mind or any example use case(s) in order to provide more clear guidance.

These three severity-based event policies may be triggered from a great variety of internal SL1 operations and we do not currently provide a consumer list of our internally defined alerts.
