Change collector for Dynamic App in device
We have this kind of issue Device is monitored with SNMP and also by Juniper Mist system. So actually there is first two separate devices in SL1. Because that device is a switch stack of for physical switches which also need to be discovered. The stacked devices discovery is pretty simple for us, we create component device for each physical device and get serials and firmware versions etc (CMDB requirements). But when we merge then this goes a bit messy. SNMP monitoring is done from a CUG in customer network, Mist connection is done from separate CUG which has access to Internet. All basic stuff is fine, but the component devices (those physical switches) will have interesting situation: the component device it self is mapped correctly to customer CUG, which is needed to get snmp access to that network DA will be aligned to backend CUG, the one which is used for connecting to Mist, and which of course does not have access to customer CUG/collector where the cache is stored. So, is there any way to force that DA to use same CUG/Collector that is seen in device? Logically in UI is shown the default, but DA alignment will choose the other one.33Views0likes4CommentsAny way to "ignore ssl" in a web content monitor?
Hi All, We're trying to do a quick and dirty web content monitor, very simple, just hit a target website and if you see a 200 it is a 'success'. I created the web content monitor and when SL1 hits the endpoint in the UI we get a timeout error. To make sur eit wasn't something else we ran a "curl -k https://website" from the collector and it worked, however ssl failure without the -k. It doesn't appear that there is an option to turn off ssl verification in the web content screen, but please let me know if I'm mistaken?Solved41Views0likes3CommentsEnhanced CDB backup possibilities
I would like to know if ScienceLogic has any plans to enhance to backup/restore in any way? So are there any plans about supporting storage based backups for example. Most storage systems support very fast snapshot/restore of disk (and therefore database).9Views0likes0CommentsAPM Monitoring for ScienceLogic
Hi All, Anyone thought of monitoring the ScienceLogic stacks with full stack observability tools like APPD, Dynatrace etc.? Basically i am interested to see what is happening inside the SL1 appliance like DC ,MC and CDB process level . Whether SL1 supports to install apm agents in the appliance.34Views0likes1CommentAs-built script for ScienceLogic configuration
Hi, dose anyone know of a script that you run, to detail your ScienceLogic application's configuration, so that you can write a ScienceLogic "as-built" application document? Not interested in the underlying servers for this particular ask, as my use case is a ScienceLogic SaaS instance. Thanks! Anne68Views2likes4CommentsCan't get new device icon to show
Hi all, I'm trying to upload a new device icon for a custom Powerpack I'm creating (Ruckus SNMP). I've taken a screenshot of the logo as a .png. First I tried to follow the documentation here, found a tool to convert the png to a svg, and SL shows me an error: Next, I just tried uploading the png in various sizes (128, 300, and 600). All of them successfully upload, and show an actual icon the Icon browser minus that grey frame (see screenshot below). However, when I apply this Icon in the Device Class view, the device itself just shows a blank window where the icon would be. Anyone had any experience doing this?92Views1like6CommentsSSL Certificate monitoring via UDP/TCP ports tab
I have worked with support on the UDP/TCP ports tab. How it works was not how I thought it would or should work. I thought it would list any open port on a server (this would be helpful) but it does not. Based on how we use the tool I would like this changed to be able to list all open ports and then have the system load all ssl certs assigned to those ports (it only does 443 today for ssl certs). We need an automated way to monitor SSL Certs. We built a custom dynamic app by port (one dynamic app per port number) to handle this but it is clunky and ssl monitoring should be something you address out of the box. Knowing what ports have an SSL cert and when it expires is as important as availability.43Views2likes0Comments
