As-built script for ScienceLogic configuration

Hi,  dose anyone know of a script that you run, to detail your ScienceLogic application's configuration, so that you can write a ScienceLogic "as-built" application document?   Not interested in the underlying servers for this particular ask, as my use case is a ScienceLogic SaaS instance.

Thanks! Anne

  • Hello Anne,

You can back up all of this information you are asking about with the Config Backup. The Config Backup will store all of the configuration settings in SL1 and also backup all of the required configuration files from the CDB. We recommend taking a daily Config Backup, as these normally run much quicker than Full Backups. Other than this, we do not have an OOTB script that will back up this information outside of SL1.

Hi Issac,  We are looking for the ScienceLogic application configuration settings - the type of settings that you'd need to put in, if the system needed to be recovered completely from scratch, taking the worst possible case that backups were completely unavailable.  So global settings, details of the collectors, what templates we are using and the template settings, account profiles and role settings, what powerpacks we are using are where they are aligned, organisation names, devices we have onboarded, (the ones using agents, vs no agents).  I was hoping for something that a script could produce, rather than doing many screenshots.  Thanks for your reply to me, I do appreciate it.

As of now i don't think SL has those kind of OOB scripts , may be use rest api or SQL query to grap those information daily or weekly basis .

Apart from this SL has a good module called powerpack which helps to add all your device groups, templates, dashboards, Run books ,devices classes etc, You can create your own pack can add the core things and export
