SL1 Hollywood 12.2.4.1 Release Notification
We are pleased to announce that SL1 Hollywood 12.2.4.1 is now available. The release and documentation can be accessed using the following link: https://support.sciencelogic.com/s/release-file/aBtVL0000000V5R0AU/12241 Please note that The SL1 Hollywood 12.2.4 release has been removed from the ScienceLogic Support portal and replaced with the 12.2.4.1 release. This is due to an added security update. 12.2.4.1 release contains additional security updates on top of 12.2.4 release. You can upgrade to 12.2.4.1 directly from the following SL1 versions: 12.2.1.1 12.2.1.2 12.2.3 IMPORTANT: If you are currently on SL1 12.1.2, do not upgrade to 12.2.4.1 until ScienceLogic publishes upgrade instructions in a Knowledge Base article. Version 1.1.0 of the ServiceNow Cases SyncPack includes the following feature: Added OAuth2 support to the SyncPack. There are four required parameters you can add to a configuration object to facilitate OAuth2 connection to ServiceNow: snow_oauth_client_id: OAuth2 Client ID from ServiceNow snow_oauth_client_secret: OAuth2 Client secret from ServiceNow snow_oauth_token_url: Full authentication URL, including host and protocol from ServiceNow. For example, "https://<test-instance-name>.service-now.com/oauth_token.do" snow_auth_method: You can enter 'oauth' or 'http_basic' as the value. Addressed an issue in the "IBM: Queue Performance" Dynamic Application displayed incorrect labels. Moved all labels to Group 0, removed the Stats label, and updated the alerts tied to those labels. (Cases: 00392676; 00404130) Improved the "IBM: MQ Queue Performance" Dynamic Application by implementing a new parser. Addressed an issue in which not all MQ QMGRs were being discovered by the "IBM: MQ Discovery" Dynamic Application. (Case: 00357992) Updated the "IBM: Queque Performance" Dynamic Application to improve the performance execution for PowerShell request. Added the “IBM MQ: Queue message depth back to normal” and "IBM MQ: Transmission Queue back to normal" alerts and events to the "IBM: MQ Queue Performance" Dynamic Application. Updated the Universal Credential to allow the Password field to accept empty values and updated the PEM Key field to allow multiple lines of input. The release and documentation can be accessed using the following link: https://support.sciencelogic.com/s/release-file/aBtVL0000000TbV0AU/1224 The release contains enhancement in Logging and Security updates, and updates in Credentials, Data Collection and Retention, Device Management, Discovery, Events, Monitoring Policies, System Update, and Topology If you are planning to consume SL1 Hollywood 12.2.4, be advised of the following: This release is available only as a patch; there is no ISO version. You can upgrade to 12.2.4 directly from the following SL1 versions: 12.1.2, if all SL1 appliances are running on Oracle Linux 8 (OL8) 12.2.1.1 12.2.1.2 12.2.3 If you are currently on SL1 12.1.0.2 or 12.1.1 and all of your appliances are running on Oracle Linux 8 (OL8), you can upgrade to 12.1.2 or 12.2.1.2 and then to 12.2.4. STIG-compliant users can upgrade to 12.2.4. You must currently be on a version of SL1 with all appliances running on Oracle Linux 8 (OL8) before you can upgrade to 12.2.4. AWS deployments that are using Aurora 3 cannot upgrade to 12.2.4. Users who currently use Python 3.9 execution environments for Dynamic Applications and Run Book Automations should not upgrade to 12.2.4. Due to a known issue, Python 3.9 is not supported in this release. A fix for this issue is planned for version 12.2.5. After upgrading to 12.2.4 and running a security scanning tool against your SL1 appliances, you might experience an issue where the scan lists several "Oracle Linux 8 : container-tools" ELSA security findings. This is due to a known issue that is preventing SL1 from removing certain unneeded packages during the upgrade process for this release. If this occurs, you must perform a manual workaround to remove those packages. We're happy to announce the release of AP2 FrenchToast, the latest AP2 release for the ScienceLogic's SL1 platform. This release includes the much awaited updates to the Collector Groups page that enable the ability to convert multiple SL1 Collectors to OL8 in a single bulk action. Additionally in this release users will find the ability to delete linked Asset records when deleting a device record. Made a number of updates to the "Cisco: Viptela Events" Dynamic Application: Consolidated functionality from the "Cisco: Viptela Events Caching" Dynamic Application into this Dynamic Application. Added the new "API Alarms" collection object to trigger the API request. Changed page size to 40 to reduce the number of requests made to the API. Added a query parameter to reduce the number of alarms retrieved from the API to only those from the last hour. This can be customized in the snippet by adjusting the polling frequency. NOTE: Upon upgrading from a version of this PowerPack using Python 2, duplicate alerts may be created due to incompatibility of the cached values from Python 2 to Python 3. Updated the "Cisco: AppDynamics Application Discovery" run book action to ignore the organization name when creating, renaming, and deleting applications. You can enable or disable it using the "Search Applications on all Organizations" threshold in the "Cisco: AppDynamics Application Discovery" Dynamic Application. The threshold is enabled by default. NOTE: ScienceLogic recommends you keep the threshold enabled only if you want to monitor AppDynamics applications across multiple organizations. Otherwise, disable the threshold if you want to monitor AppDynamics applications in the default organization that has the controller. You can upgrade to this release directly from the following releases: SL1 12.3.0 or 12.3.1 SL1 12.2.1.1 through 12.2.6 SL1 12.1.2, if all of your SL1 appliances have been converted to OL8. If you are on12.1.2, you should upgrade directly to 12.3.2 without consuming the 12.2.x releases. If you are on 12.1.0.2 or 12.1.1, you can upgrade to 12.1.2, convert to OL8, and then upgrade directly to 12.3.2 without consuming the 12.2.x releases. 12.2.x and 12.3.0 STIG-compliant users can upgrade to this release. Users who are on an 11.x MUD system cannot upgrade directly to this release; they must first follow the approved conversion process from 11.x MUD to 12.2.1.1 STIG and then upgrade to 12.3.2 STIG.
